"I was really taken with this CD upon first hearing. The lutenist is especially adept at producing a beguilingly soft and yet expressively dynamic tone. This recording is even better than his excellent first cd. The repertoire is unusual. Hagen and Falkenhagen seem to be intermediate between the great figures of the German Baroque such as Reusner and Weiss and the later style of the gallant. One cannot argue with this performers skill and taste. He will be one of the leaders of the new generation. The older generation - Nigel North, Paul Beier, Hopkinson Smith, Jakob Lindberg - are supreme artists and have established the lute as the most aesthetically compelling instrument in early music. Miguel Yisrael will carry on this tradition." Myrmex (USA, 2012)
